Project Status: Complete
Quarry Hill is a new £60m campus based in the cultural quarter of Leeds. Facilities include purpose-built dance studios, darkrooms, specialist childcare facilities, medical areas, modern classrooms, digital technology labs, theatres, and creative studios.
2 stage tender required model checking and validation at the time of contractor appointment and at the completion of the project.
We were appointed during the later part of stage 3. It was realised that the project required an EIR and the information that would be (and has been) developed required validation.
Our appointment occurred around the same time as the contractor appointment. Therefore, part of the EIR development also required negotiating with the preferred contractor to include the BIM requirements as part of the project deliverables.
A significant quantity of data was produced through multiple models (architectural, structural, MEP, catering, FF&E, sprinklers and studio design). To reduce the quantity of data we narrowed down the amount of data to a list of maintainable assets.
We used our own bespoke data checking tools to automate the checking process and enable us to focus on just the information required.
